Advocacy

What We Do

The WCSP advocates for Wyoming providers at the federal and state level, working with legislators, other elected officials, and regulators to protect and enhance the advocacy, quality and care environment that has been the hallmark of disability providers in Wyoming.

A central goal of the WCSP's advocacy efforts is to create a unified vision and voice on behalf of all providers, large and small.

WCSP is actively involved with two statewide groups:

The Employment First task force. This team works together to identify and implement systematic changes in current Wyoming employment support systems.

The Executive Director of WCSP holds an ongoing seat on The Developmental Disabilities Division Advisory Council. This Council exists by authority of W.S. 9-2-107(a) for the purpose of advising the Division staff on formulating and amending rules, policies, and procedure relating to Division programs and activities.  The purpose of the Council is to assist and advise the Division in implementing a statewide service delivery system for persons who are identified as having developmental disabilities and their families. http://www.health.wyo.gov/ddd/ddadvisorycouncilhome.html

Letters to the editors will help ensure that Wyoming residents and the media understand how vital it is to #FundTheCost for the state's most vulnerable populations.

Draft letters to the editor can be found here. Feel free to download, edit, add your name/hometown and submit your letter to your local paper.
